In 2015, two young Hongkongers (who’d met on a clothing forum in the late 2000s) had the simple idea of starting a label specialising in well-made, materially superior outerwear — the kind which wouldn’t be sold at cutthroat prices.
Four years later, this concept has morphed into Craftsman Clothing: a fully fledged label that’s been featured in the pages of esteemed publications like The Rake and Men’s Precious. The young founders in question — messrs Tobe Fong and TC Ng — are a crucial part of that equation, channeling the same dégagé style (“sportorial” as Tobe calls it) that imbues the entirety of their brand’s offering.
